Morning

We left at 08:30.

Meitar-Sansana crossing

Open!  At the crossing we were told everything was operating normally except for a merchant from Bethlehem who wasn’t allowed through this entry.

South Hebron Hills

Dura-Al Fawwar – Border Police present.

Southern entrance to Hebron from Beit Haggai – Closed

Kvasim junction – Israeli police present

We didn’t enter Hebron.

The entrance to Hebron from Shuyukh – Closed

The entrance to Hebron from Highway 35 – Closed

Nabil’s grocery store at Zif junction – Global village:  date spread from Dubai, Halvah from Egypt, dairy products from Tnuvah, Tahini from Hebron, and, of course, the fakus (Palestinian crop) which Leah says is heavenly.  True to the recycling/reuse tradition, Nabil uses the settlers’ posters as sunshades.

Happy Ramadan, Nabil.

M. says traffic on Highway 60 was heavier than in previous weeks.
