Morning

Only three inspection stations were open when we arrived at 05:05. Lines were short but rapidly lengthened at this hour, and even though two additional stations opened at 05:23 the damage had already been done – the lines stretched into the parking lot until about 06:30.

A DCL soldier opened the humanitarian gate at 06:10, and again whenever a group of people had gathered there.

The lines gradually grew shorter after 06:30; the cages were empty by the time we left at 06:55.

Apparently the checkpoint managers are satisfied with how things are, but the people arriving at the checkpoint between 05:05 and 06:30 are certainly not satisfied with their long wait (based on their repeated complaints and requests to us for help during our shift).
