Barta'a-Reihan, Tura-Shaked
15.45 Tura-Shaked Checkpoint
There is complete silence at the checkpoint and it’s surroundings. It is as if the soldiers’ position is completely redundant. We met a man, who lives in Anin but must leave home for his work every day and therefore cannot pass through the Anin checkpoint (which opens only twice a week). He has a crossing permit for the Shaked checkpoint which is far away from his village. This makes life very difficult for him and also causes him heavy expenses.
The thousand dollar questions : why isn’t the Anin checkpoint opened every day , why aren’t more crossing permits issued, and why aren’t we doing enough about this ?
