Afternoon

15:00 Tura-Shaked checkpoint

We arrive at an active checkpoint; A few cars and some pedestrians cross on both sides. A relatively large group of men, women, and children walk in the direction of the single house (between the checkpoint and Shaked).

We went up the sleeveinfo-icon and tried our luck at the inspection area. After walking 2/3 of the way we were stopped by two soldiers who were playing chess, who told us to go back.

There are two wide piles of dirt on the main road. What for?

15:20  We left.

15:25  Barta'a-Rihan checkpoint

We are welcomed by dogs barking at the nearby kennel. Here too traffic is busy: women return to the West Bank carrying bags and parcels. All smile and greet us. We thought there was a Holiday but were told that there wasn't. One person who goes to the Seam Line zone gets out holding his belt, puts it back on. Along the main road there is a long line of trucks and other vehicles awaiting inspection. There are three vehicles under inspection.

16:00  We left.
