Morning

06:15  'Azzun 'Atma.  No one was waiting at the checkpoint; few people were outside.  We’re told it’s because of the fast.  Someone who came from As Sawiya said there’s a checkpoint at the entrance to 'Azzun 'Atma from the West Bank and everyone with an Israeli work permit may cross there, including those who aren’t from 'Azzun 'Atma.  That helps explain why people aren’t going through the fence, since whoever reaches 'Azzun 'Atma has a work permit and will be able to cross through the' Azzun 'Atma checkpoint to the “Israel” seam zone.  The army apparently found a way to plug the holes by establishing a controlled crossing at the northern entrance to the village.

06:35  The gate to Hani’s house in Elkana is supposed to be open from 06:30 to 06:45.  The soldiers are opening the gatesinfo-icon, but no one is waiting except a security guard from Elkana drowsing in his car next to the gate.  We stayed 10 minutes and then left.

07:10  Habla.  The soldiers are opening the gates, which took them until 07:15, and the first people go through.  The crossing doesn’t operate efficiently, but most people went through by 07:35 because there were fewer people than usual here today as well.

07:40  Eliyahu gate.  No one was waiting at the pedestrian crossing.  A car is being inspected.

We continued to the entrance to 'Azzun to make sure it was open, and it was.
