6:40 Olive Terminal

Lines of more than 10 at each of the lanes.  In the third lane, a guard occasionally opens a side gate and lets pupils cross without needing to press for the turnstile.  On the other hand, the first and second lanes opened and closed without announcements. creating a chaotic movement of people moving back and forth between. them.  One can only imagine the indignant feelings on the part of those who must cross this checkpoint daily.

Shuafat

In the parking area, life is as usual.

In the pedestrian lane a female soldier stands beside the turnstile, with a guard next to her.  The checking takes place there, swiftly.

The crossing for vehicles was congested when we arrived, but loosened with time.  Inspection of vehicles today was quick.

One lane was set aside for transportation of pupils who crossed without inspection.  Another was set aside for public transportation.  For the first time at this checkpoint we observed the procedure whereby some of the passengers disembark and return to the bus after inspections.
