Morning

07:30 – Shaked – Tura Checkpoint

There is very little vehicle or pedestrian traffic.  People complain about a female soldier who has spoken rudely to people crossing the checkpoint, including people who are old enough to be her parents or grandparents.  People also complain about the hour during the morning (10:00-12:00) when the checkpoint is closed, preventing free movement throughout the day.

We left at 08:30.

08:40 – Reihan Barta'a Checkpoint – Crossing is smooth and quick.  There are a lot of taxis waiting at the exit from the terminal waiting For passengers.  There are half a dozen trucks on the road to the south waiting to be checked.  There are two windows open in the terminal and people coming out tell us that they crossed through quickly and that it was not crowded.  People that we observed entering the terminal came out after 10-12 minutes.  One woman with a child was not permitted to cross until one of the staff intervened.

One of the windows closed just before 09:00. A tells us that the Dotan-Yaabed checkpoint is open and running smoothly.
We left at 09:20.
