Qalandiya, Mon 20.5.13, Afternoon

Phyllis W., Natanya G
15:45 When we arrived at Qalandiya  we saw about four soldiers standing near the bus park.  Natanya alighted to see what was happening. Men of all ages were stopped and checked to see if they had valid permits to enter Israel or Blue IDs. Women were not stopped and it seemed that everyone who was checked was allowed to continue on their way. But I was only there for about 15 minutes. We were told that this happens about once a week. But this is the first time that we have seen people being checked as they return from work.
We were there for about 45 minutes and left as it was very windy and did not seem the best place  to be after a cataract operation.
