Afternoon

We arrived at the Habla agricultural gate at 13:50. It’s open; a car and a horse cart return toward Habla. The gate closes at 14:15.

14:15

Nabi Elias – shops are open, people in the street.

14:30

On the way to Izbet Tabib. A man sits in the protest tent with signs against the occupation and in protest against the demolition of the school; PLO flags. We met a local resident who wished to speak to us and recount the incident of the school which was built in 2005 with the support of the Palestinian Authority. They submitted all the construction plans to the Israeli authorities, requested approvals and the response was demolition orders. There are 100 children in the village, half of whom go to school in Azzun. There are 7 classes and ten teachers. The building also serves as the offices of the local council. They’re determined to have a school there. He said that only in 2004 did they receive water; they got electricity from Azzun. We took photographs.

15:15

We left for Huwwara; a Yitzhar security vehicle, a police and an army vehicle at the Yitzhar junction because of an traffic accident.

The Huwwara checkpoint is open and not manned. The Tapuach/Za’tara junction isn’t manned.

16:00

The cross-Shomron checkpoint, going toward Azzun Atma. Laborers at the checkpoint returning from work (photo attached). The infrastructure at the entry to the gate is being upgraded.

16:30

 Back home via Rosh Ha’ayin.
