15:00 – A'anin Checkpoint

Four farmers on tractors and a few other people are waiting. It is very hot.  There is a Jeep inside the checkpoint, and two more arrive.  A policewoman gets out and opens the checkpoint, and everyone crosses through.

15:30 * Shaked-Tura Checkpoint

Only a few people are "enjoying" the new features at the checkpoint; a pedestrian crossing, a stoplight, and "mother and child" facilities.

On our way to the Dotan Checkpoint we passed the parking lot at Reihan Barta'a Checkpoint, which was completely full.  The farther parking lot was also full.  At the bridge two bars are blocking the road and cars are parked on either side of the road, belonging to people who didn't wish to drive around to get to the checkpoint.  Teenage boys are riding their bicycles on the road to the village of Emricha.

16:05 – Mevo Dotan-Yaabed Checkpoint

The checkpoint is manned by soldiers but cars are passing through without being checked.  At the entrance to the terminal there is a long line of tired and irritated workers going home to the West Bank. The turnstile at the entrance is closed and no one is going through.  A few women and children, dressed in holiday clothes, come out of the terminal, going towards the seamline zone.  It is the wedding season. The turnstile opens, but only a few people manage to get into the terminal.  We phone Sharon, the checkpoint manager, it helps, and people begin going in more quickly.  At 16:50 the line disappears and we leave.  More workers arrive and we hope they will get through quickly.
