08:30 Shaked-Tura checkpoint

Due to construction work and upgrading of the road, the checkpoint is still closed for vehicles; only pedestrians are allowed through.

One woman told us that another woman, a resident of Daher-el-Malec, an old lady with a limp, is stuck inside the inspection cabin because her passage permit has expired. The woman came, escorted by another old lady, on their way to the Salem DCO to renew their passage permit. I tried talking with the soldiers explaining that for every chore, shopping, seeing a doctor etc., she must cross over into the West Bank, but to no avail. I called V. at the DCO, who explained that if she'd nter the West Bank she might not be allowed back home into the Seam Line zone, because it is not certain that s'ddl receive the new permit right away in Salem. In the meantime, the woman could hardly walk through the new sleeveinfo-icon and the soldiers brought her a chair. V. suggested that she'll turn to the head of the municipality who would pick up the expired permit and bring her back a valid one. Someone drove her back home.

10:00 – Reihan-Barta'a checkpoint

More plants, trees and drawings were added to the site. 10 trucks waited for inspection, they all entered inspection at 11:00. 10 more trucks arrived, the one covered truck that carried a load of miserable chickens was spared the long wait in line.

11:15– We left.
