Anata

We went first to Anata, arriving there when large numbers of children were returning to “the other side” of the checkpoint, and a few were coming in the other direction.  The children passed quickly and without incident.

Unlike last week, the road from Azariah to Wadi Nar was open and cars moved very quickly.  There was a good deal of traffic, but because all vehicles moved very quickly through the checkpoint in both directions there were no backups.

Wadi Nar

While we were at Wadi Nar, we noticed some very large trucks coming in the wrong direction on the one way street that is supposed to lead away from the checkpoint.  We could not figure out where these vehicles could have come from since there are no entrances along the way.  However, when we got to the road leading toward the Qedar outpost, we noticed that a young man was standing near the locked gate.  It would appear that these large trucks (with PA license plates) are allowed through to carry out work on the settlements via a passage that has been closed to other traffic for some months.
