Zeitim Crossing

Lively traffic of people crossing, no delays -- a maximum of 5 minutes.

On the way to Wadi Nar we noted progress in construction to expand Kedar.  In addition, the start of a high barbed wire fence around the expansion, biting seriously into the valley with the only fertile soil in the area.  The road continuing in the direction Wadi Nar, near the old Kedar, has been thoroughly repaired.  We wonder to what end. Concrete blocks form a sort of partial separation between those continuing to the old Kedar and those turning towards Wadi Nar.  If the separation is completed, it will be impossible to reach the checkpoint or the houses east of it by this route.

Just before the Wadi Nar checkpoint the blocks have been oddly shifted; for anyone on a wheelchair access will be difficult.

One of the soldiers at the c.p. said the blocks had been shifted ahead of a visit by the DCO.
He said that once in a while the checkpoint is opened from the Kedar end to let through the transport of prisoners.  He did not know from where to where.

Crossing at Wadi Nar was fast and unimpeded.
