Morning

Abu Dis (the Pishpash), Ras Abu Sabitan (Zeitim Crossing), Sheikh Saed
Thursday morning, 28.4.11

6:05 Sheikh Saed

A stream of people crossing, but produce no lines.  Here and there a youngster is asked to show a document.

6:50 Sawaharra A-Sharkiya Checkpoint

Lively traffic of pedestrians.  The western gate is locked, mysteriously unlocked at random by an invisible hand. Few cars crossing.

7:30 Zeitim Crossing

Sparse traffic.  No line.

Az-Za'ayyem

A traffic jam of dozens of vehicles descending from Az-Za'ayyem and wishing to cross.  The crossing is ahead of the checkpoint and the check is performed by a soldier and a security guard.  The documents of the drivers are checked, and there are random checks of the vehicles.
On two occasions we saw a couple of dogs and their trainers, but did not have a chance to see them in action.
