11:45  Huwwara checkpoint

Given the good news that the checkpoint was removed, we wanted to see for ourselves.

In the last month the checkpoint was sometimes not manned.

Today also – no soldiers on the road, but there are in the observation tower.

Traffic flows freely in all directions.

Settlers stand waiting for rides.

11:50  Awarta checkpoint

The checkpoint seems not to be operating, no soldiers and the crossing is closed by gate.  We didn’t see whether there were soldiers in the pillbox.

11:55  Beit Furik checkpoint

As has been the case for a long time, the checkpoint is open and there are no soldiers on the road.  Apparently there are soldiers in the pillbox.

An army jeep at the entrance to Yitamar.

A second jeep patrolling – we saw him a few times coming in the opposite direction.

12:25  Za’tara-Tapuach checkpoint

Many soldiers, no line of cars.

We continued toward the Jordan Valley.

200 meters from the Za’tara-Tapuach junction we saw two soldiers on the hill observing the road.  Later on we saw a jeep on a different hill.

Two army jeeps at the entrance to Osarin.
