 Wadi Nar

Traffic is fairly orderly, without interference from the soldiers.  We did not stay long enough to find out whether traffic indeed continued to be calm in the precincts of Jerusalem.

Issawiya

A week ago we started touring both upper entrances to the neighbourhood. On the road, starting from the petrol station of French Hill, a few blocks to impede traffic are scattered, and two border policemen posted next to them.

A week ago the claim was that they were there to warn Israelis of the dangers of entering the village, but this week there must have been a dereliction of duty since we were allowed to pass without warnings or obstructions.

At the other entrance to Issawiya, abutting on the entrance to Mount Scopus, a police car is permanently stationed, its engine running and a policeman keeping an eye on all who cross.
