Morning
6:50 Sheikh Sa'ed
Little children cross unchecked; older ones are asked to open their bags and, once in a while, to show documents.
Up the road, above the checkpoint there is a parking area which has
been there as long as the checkpoint, perhaps longer.  For some reason
today parking there is forbidden, drivers are chased away with shouts on
the loudspeaker.  Why?  Just because!

Many pupils await transportation.  Vehicles cross the checkpoint -- not many -- but this is a novelty.
Drivers must wait for the yellow metal barrier to be raised, then for
the gate to be opened; then the vehicle is checked very thoroughly.
After that, there is a wait for the gate to be opened, then the barrier
raised again -- a total of four electronic mechanisms for one crossing.
