Afternoon

16:00:  Monday was a day of "chamsin".  It was hot with a strong easterly wind blowing billows of dust and dirt.  When we reached the CP, we found that it was practically deserted.  The carousel at the northern entrance remained open during our entire shift.  The three active internal passageways also remained open.  Lines were short and passage was rapid.  When we passed through to the Jerusalem side of the CP we saw that motor traffic was moving unimpeded.  From the distance we could see that the line of vehicles at Atarot CP on the other hand was quite long.

We returned to the northern shed to observe what was happening -- nothing special.

17:00:  We left Qalandiya for Jerusalem via Lil/Jabba and Hizmeh CPs.  There were no lines at Jabba but we saw a policeman sitting in his car on the Ramallah side of the road writing a traffic ticket to the driver of a minibus standing nearby.  There were no lines at Hizmeh CP
