Azzun Atma

7:00  Twenty people waiting.  Two inspection booths open, and then people are checked by a soldier with a metal detector.  He inspects knapsacks and bags from time to time as well as food containers, and also pockets.  The procedure is usually quick, about 5 minutes.

A pupil comes over from across the road and they open the locked gate for him.
Five soldiers are standing there.
At 7:15 there weren’t any laborers at the gate.

We left to Nablus CPs

9:40  There’s a traffic light for those entering toward Tulkarm.  There may also be one for those leaving, but from where we were standing we could only guess.  Despite the red light, the soldiers motion to those entering Tulkarm to keep going.  Those leaving are delayed by random inspections.  We saw two taxis stopped in a lane blocked by a bar that can be raised; their passengers had to get out and wait ten minutes until they were allowed to continue.
