Afternoon

Duration: 15:00 -  17:00 PM

General situation: month of Ramadan.

16:00 PM, Etzion DCL: six Palestinian cars are parked in the parking lot. Before the waiting hall we met again the young Palestinian woman from last week, who  had told us that she had been waiting for four hours for an appointment with the Shabak.

This time she showed us a document signed by a policeman who was not present last week.

She told us that she intends  to work at an Israeli supermarket nearby. She had worked there already before. The Israeli owner had not been satisfied with the permit the police gave her and has send her back to the DCL, to receive a permit by the Shabak (?).

We knew that Shabak is not giving out work-permits. For safety we asked a Machsom Watch lady with more experience. She got the information, that the young woman never had worked at the Supermarket before and the owner did not send her to the Shabak.

Whatever might be the truth, for me she  gave the impression of being a young bird, being fallen out of his nest. We did not see any other people (from the six cars). We left.

16:50 PM, Bethlehem - Checkpoint 300: it was empty on the Jerusalem side.
