Morning

7:45  Two lanes open.  Traffic flows, and cars aren’t being detained.  Nevertheless, because of the hour, a line of more than 20 cars forms quickly.

On the way here we saw that the entrance to Zeita was blocked.  As ususal.

Huwwara

7:55  At the entrance to Nablus only Israeli cars were detained to check whether their passengers were Arabs.  At the exit from Nablus cars with youthful passengers were occasionally stopped and their ID’s were inspected for about 15 minutes.  A truck that was stopped had to turn around and go back.  We weren’t allowed to approach the checkpoint to find out why.

Jit

8:35  On our way here we got a little lost and drove into Burin.  We backtracked and found the Yitzhar road, on both sides of which the beautiful lupins were blossoming.

A jeep was parked at the side of the road at the Jit junction, two soldiers standing by it.  No vehicles were stopped near them.

Deir Sharaf (barrels)

8:45  The barrels checkpoint no longer exists.  No soldiers

Route 57 has been upgraded.
