Bethlehem, Tue 9.2.10, Morning

6:45 am, Bethlehem - Checkpoint 300:  long lines at five checking stations.  Yet many say today is a very good day compared to yesterday.  A new guard approaches and asks me to stand outside since I am not allowed to watch from inside.  I answered that I have been standing here a number of years and will continue to do so.  No more suggestions were offered.  In two cases permits were questioned but people were permitted to pass.  And in two other instances the men were told that their permits had been cancelled.  The lines did not empty until 7:55 am.
