Afternoon

Shave Shomron junction – Three jeeps and soldiers are present.

The Barrels Checkpoint

15:50 – The soldiers are back. A tent has been put up for their convenience on the right side. A vehicle leaving Deir Sharaf is checked randomly, which causes a line to build up. Members of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Program that we meet tell us that the traffic stopped for an hour until 15:25 and that now they are monitoring it.

The road from Shave Shomron junction to Anabta is full of army with jeeps and military police present every few hundreds of meters. Before Anabta a pile of stones with the Israeli flag on top has been put up in memory of the rabbi murdered here a week ago. To pacify the settlers, the army has reestablished forces in the area.
