Eid al-Adha begins today.

13:40  Heavy traffic which quickly thins leaving Israel via the Shomron Gate,.

A policewoman checks permits and the contents of a truck with an Israeli license plate.

Five laborers returning from work in Israel walk home along the roadside.

13:55 Two command-cars on the left (going north), a little past Az Zawiya

14:04  The entrance to Zeita and Jamma’in – opens for a day!! [after two years], but closes again the following day!!

We were told that the roadblock was removed yesterday, and that will certainly be noted in yesterday’s report – but, unfortunately, today we must report that the roadblock was reinstalled.  Why?

According to the residents, the army removed the roadblock the day before yesterday, and yesterday the piles of sand and rocks were returned and blocked the crossing.

The lords of the occupation have their reasons.

14:10  Za’tara checkpoint –
Light traffic.  Heavy vehicular traffic from the direction of Ramallah towards Nablus.  A Palestinian taxi stands in the parking lot, the driver outside, a police vehicle alongside.

Something new:

Inside Huwwara village, two young men serving as “traffic cops” [wearing yellow vests] voluntarily directing traffic at a busy location.

14:20  Huwwara checkpoint –
Heavy traffic in both directions.

Soldiers checking traffic leaving Nablus occasionally stop a vehicle carrying young men, or minibuses and check documents.

Those stationed where traffic enters Nablus glance briefly at each car with an Israeli license plate.

14:45  Two command-cars driving in Huwwara.
