The soldiers are hiding in the air-conditioned booth, and from within are signalling to the cars to go through. The only delay for the vehicles entering Tulkarem is caused by the traffic control strips, and the scarified road. At the exit the soldier stops a vehicle from time to time and addresses the driver, but today there are no queues either at the exit nor the entrance. Therefore the coffee sellers do not make a living today.

A stream of vans spits out the workmen who hurry towards the checkpoint. Many point to the large signpost hanging just above the place where the vehicles deposit them. They say that workmen who are in a hurry hardly notice that it is hanging lower than an average person's height, and so occasionally they bump their heads. They ask if we can do something about having it moved. (A photo will be sent by Yona).

Inside the installation there are two checkposts open, the queues are small and the people enter rapidly.

A queue of about 70 people is waiting in the entrance to the installation. About 55 enter upon the opening of the carousels. These are opened again every 4-5 minutes. Going through the installation does not take more than 5 minutes. Two women arrive and on their heads carton boxes full of vegetables. It seems they work in gardening. One of them tells us: "It's not ok, going through" and proceeds towards the entrance. We had no time to ask her what was not ok.
