8:35  Barrels checkpoint. 

The soldiers erected a canopy between the northern position and the road so it shaded the side lane where cars could be stopped for inspection.  But the canopy blocks the lane and when they stop a car all the remaining traffic must also stop and wait, because the road is only one lane wide in each direction.  That didn’t happen while we were there, because the soldiers sat or stood in the canopy’s shade, eating sunflower seeds, and traffic went through without interference.
