Afternoon

6.40
About 20 people stand in front of the gate waiting to be checked. The line soon shortens. It is late for the workers.

One man says that he comes from Nablus to work at Elkana. In the past he went through the Qalqiliya  (Eliyahu) passage, that he is went on road 5. Now they will not let him go through there and he has to come to Azzun Atma, that is on the longer road 55 and from there to take another taxi for another 15 kilometre. At Azzun Atma he has to go through two checkpoints. He left his house at 4 a.m. and we did not ask him what he paid for taxis. Micky writes a report on the fact that there has been a worsening of the orders concerning the workers coming through the Eliyhau passage.

One man says that the wait at the northern checkpoint of the village which we cannot reach is almost an hour even through that there are not more people passing there than at the southern where we are present.
