Morning

7:00  On the way to Sheikh Saed

There was crowd of policemen, border-policemen and other security forces in the border-police camp at the entrance to Jabel Mukhaber, along with tractors.  We were unable to obtain clear answers to our inquiries about this situation.  Since it seemed to us  that these were preparations ahead of house demolitions (similar to those we saw in the same place and the same hour the day before the "seder"), we called Meir Margalit and informed him.

7:20  Sheikh Saed

Sparse traffic, flowing.  Registration was handled manually but because of the sparseness of persons crossing there was no queue in front of the checkpoint.

7:50  The Pishpash

We decided to check on progress with work to move the wall eastward in this area, according to court order.  We crossed to the Palestinian side,  saw that work was proceeding and had a better understanding of the route.

While we were there contractors were busy breaking up a fence on the planned route leading to the security road.

We spoke to a resident the back windows of whose home will be sealed to become part of the fence.  In addition, we paid another visit to the kindergarten surrounded by the wall and spoke with the teacher who was concerned about moving the fence eastward because then the children from Al-Azariah -- the majority in the kindergarten -- would no longer be able to reach it.

9:00  Wadi Nar

Sparse traffic, flowing. We saw a detained vehicle whose passengers claimed they had been waiting for half an hour.  The vehicle was released shortly thereafter.  Other vehicles were detained from time to time, but released very quickly.
