Afternoon

15.15

Almost no traffic on the road leading to Deir Sharaf and Nablus. Cars go past without being checked. Two soldiers stand on either side of the road and another watches from the sentry tower. 3 soldiers arrive in a jeep next to us. They are eager to speak to us and ask questions, listen to our answers and try to persuade us how important it is that there be an army presence on the West Bank.  We listened and explained to them our perception on this subject. We had a feeling that we had given them something to think about.

15.45
On the hills west of the road opposite the pink house which the journalists call "Shvut Ami", the hills settler youth is running around. We did not see tents or any other gear.
