The village, with a population of 5,418 according to the population census of 2017, is located in areas B and C, covering an area of 9,000 hectares. Of these, 3,000 dunums are located in the built-up area (Area B), while more than half of the total area is located in Area C. The settlements Migdalim and Esh Kodesh are located on the hills above Kosra. This hostile proximity greatly harms the work of the village orchards, due to harassment of settlers and severe restrictions on processing and harvesting time.
The main problem is the lack of water - there is a water pipe that runs through the village and leads to the settlements, but the entrance to Qusra is closed since 2016 and the distribution of water is done only twice a week. Water ifrom a spring near Nablus is co-used with 13 other villages. In the summer is not enough.
