Maqam St Zahara
This domed structure was photographed whole in 1975, and visits of the villagers were documented. At present, there is no trace of the dome, and the massive stone walls are ruined. Sitt Zahara was a local Muslim holy woman. The remains of this Maqam are caged inside the Kochav HaShachar nature reserve, entered through the settlement of Kochav HaShachar. Under the aegis of the Israeli Nature and National Park Authority, the site has been turned into a memorial for Rechav’am Ze’evi.
Palestinians are forbidden to come here and act upon their right to restore the Maqam.
