Many thousands of believers from throughout the West Bank are trying to reach El-Akza for the Friday prayers. They all have to go through the Qalandia checkpoint. Because of the many checkpoints inside the West Bank, many of them have to leave in the early hours of the morning to reach Jerusalem on time. At 11:45 the Israeli army closed Qalandia Checkpoint, not letting anyone through.

A Settler Attack at Izhar (Burin) Checkpoint

A settler tried to run over and then attacked Machsom Watch activist at the Izhar (Burin) checkpoint. The settler gave orders to the soldiers at the checkpoint and ignored a police officer who tried to call him in for questioning. Despite witnessing the entire incidence, the soldiers who were present chose not to intervene.

Maccabim Checkpoint

Maccabim Checkpoint is located inside Occupied Palestinian land on road 443 leading from Modi'in to Jerusalem. Through this checkpoint only Palestinians who were fortunate enough to acquire work permits for working inside Israel are allowed to pass. According to these permits, they have to go back home every evening, so in order to get to their work places on time they get to the checkpoint around 3:00 a.m. every morning.

Dogs in Huwwara Checkpoint

Filmed at the Huwwara checkpoint, deep inside the Occupied Palestinian Territories, this video shows that the Israeli army is using dogs to check cars of Palestinians. These checks do not only take a long time and have never proven to be of any use, but are also highly offensive to Moslems who view dogs as impure animals.
